Sleeping Time Survey Analysis

Sleeping Time Survey Analysis

My research topic: Sleeping time
Target: University students
Number of respondents: (17)

(Summary) Students answered 9 questions about sleeping time.

(Results)

Graph#1 shows that most respondents are students as their profession. In detail, 94.1% responded "Students", 5.9% responded "Children". So, it was confirmed that most of the people answering this question were students.

#1

Graph#2 shows that most of the respondents like sleeping. But a person answered "so-so". On the other hand, it shows that no one dislikes sleeping. Perhaps sleeping plays an important role in their lives.

#2

Graph#3 shows that the respondents' sleeping time average is 7 hours. This is surprising in that they are getting unexpectedly large amounts of sleep. However, some respondents answered only one hour. This is probably due to more free time because university students are given more time for their studies, hobbies, play, part-time jobs, and something. Also, the students themselves decide how to use all of those time. Therefore, the respondents may have spent more time on their studies and hobbies, which may have resulted in less sleeping time.
(This data is inaccurate due to a defect)

Graph#4 shows that in general, the ideal sleeping time was 7 hours, according to the respondents. It should be pointed out that the result of the respondents' sleeping time average in Graph #3 is the same as that of this graph. Also, the second most common answer was 8 hours. This means that most of the respondents consider about 7~8 hours to be generally the ideal amount of sleep. In fact, about 8 hours are said ideal.

#4

Graph#5 shows that most of the respondents are not satisfied with their current sleeping hours. The fact that they are not getting enough sleep is not surprising.

#5

List#6 shows that homework at university is the most major cause of less sleep. This indicates that homework at university is a major burden for students and they tend to do their homework in the middle of the night.

#6

Graph#7 shows that students who are dissatisfied with their current sleeping time would want to sleep 8 hours if they could.

#7

Graph#8 shows that the item of most concerns for sleep was the Makura. But the Futon also was chosen by a narrow margin and the results were as expected since those items are essential for sleep.

#8

In list#9, the respondents' many troubles with sleeping were described. Each is a different trouble, and some are more difficult.

#9

(Conclusion)

This survey has many surprising and interesting results. Japanese people get less sleeping time, compared with countries around the world. This problem affects many situations. Therefore, it is necessary to know and think about the current situation of Japanese people's sleep from these results.
